Kelly and Patrick have been together on and off for nine years. Patrick has been friends with Kelly’s younger brother since 5th grade and became close friends in high school. The relationship blossomed and eventually became more than friends. There were ups and downs in their relationship, but they are finally back together again. As the saying goes, “no great love ever came without great struggle”, getting back together has been their best decision. They can’t wait for many more years of happiness.
As a couple, they love going to the gym together. Kelly started going with him last winter and has grown to enjoy it as much as him since high school. Other than that, they are kind of opposites with some other things. Patrick loves the winter and snowboarding. On the other hand, Kelly loves the sun, he is an Eagles fan, while she’s more of a Cowboys fanatic.
Having the opposite interests is why their relationship works well together. Each has the things they enjoy doing while they support each other's interests. They know how to cheer each other up when one is down, but the best part is, they bring the best out of each other. What’s more, they have known everything about each other for the past nine years.
The proposal took place at Kelly's sister's house. A week before the proposal, Kelly asked if Patrick would want to grab dinner at their favorite steakhouse and he agreed. Little did she know, she basically set up her engagement. He reached out to Kelly’s family the next day after planning the dinner to help get everything ready at her sister’s house. Earlier that day, her sister asked them to stop over because she was having some friends over.
While heading to her sister's house, where there were no cars in the driveway. They got out and walked out back. Both of their families stood up on the hill as a violinist started playing an Elvis, which brought Kelly to tears. The next thing she knows, Patrick is down on one knee.
She said yes, of course! They then enjoyed time with their families and had a fantastic night.
The proposal was both expected and a surprise. She expected this moment because she had been waiting and they had been talking about it for a while. It was also a surprise because every time they went out for dinner, she assumed it would happen, but it never did. So, his timing was perfect.
Kelly has always told Patrick that she would love for her family to be there when he proposed, and he made it happen, which meant a lot to her. And for this, she will always remember this day.
