Longwood Gardens Engagement |Nicole & Jae

Nicole and Jae both attended Delaware Law School. They first met back in 2016 during their first year of law school after submitting their Civil Procedure Midterm Exam. After being introduced to each other by a mutual friend, they spent the night chatting away. Since then, their relationship has come naturally, and they have been inseparable. In December 2017, Jae finally asked Nicole to be his girlfriend and the rest became history.

Besides a shared passion for the law, this lovely couple also had interests such as visiting new breweries and wineries, going to the beach, spending time with their families, and taking trips.

What makes their relationship work well together is that they balance each other well. They both have easy-going personalities and have a lot of the same interests. Communication definitely plays an integral part in their relationship.

The proposal:

The proposal took place on the beach in Ocean City, New Jersey. It was a typical Saturday in March, and Nicole was actually headed to get her nails done. This was a relief to Jae, so he was able to pick up the ring from his family's house in Northfield. While getting ready to go out for the day, they planned to head down to a winery in Cape May with their families.

Before they had left, Jae had asked Nicole to walk her dog with him. She didn't think much of it because everyone was getting ready to head out for the day. She agreed even though she was starving. They walked up to the beach, which they did the week prior, but Nicole sensed something weird about this walk. She kept asking Jae what was going on and what they were doing?

As they stepped onto the beach, Jae started to speak. Nicole blacked out because of the high adrenaline. With tears in both of their eyes, Jae summarized their relationship and what she meant to him. He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Their families walked up from afar, and little did she know this was all planned.

The proposal came as a complete surprise which left Nicole speechless. It was the best day of their lives so far. The proposal's location was significant for the couple because Nicole’s family has a house in Ocean City, Jae's family is from the area, and they both love the beach.
