Venue Information

Located near Philadelphia, Welkinweir is an arboretum and wedding venue that offers a blend of splendor and serenity for your special day. The name means "sky water" in Old English. Early in the 18th century, the property provided timber for Reading Furnace for iron manufacturing.

In the heart of Chester County, Welkinweir sits on 224 permanently preserved acres. This 55-acre arboretum and protected forests feature stone walls, springhouses, abundant wildlife, and protected forests. It offers an idyllic backdrop for indoor and outdoor events for up to 150 guests, overlooking a 6-acre pond in a private valley, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The flowering trees, shrubs, and perennials filling the ruins of the stone bank barn make this intimate location the idyllic place for a wedding ceremony. Today, the charm and grace of this historic estate are being preserved and even made “greener” to follow its sustainability mission.

"Ralph's ability to make his clients feel like they are #1 at all times is phenomenal! His work speaks for itself, but it is what he does in addition to the pictures that makes the difference. Him and his team went far beyond our expectations and were able to capture not only pictures, but a story of our lives. We would recommend Ralph Deal Photography to anyone who wants an exceptional and personalized experience!"
