Looking for a wedding venue that combines historic charm, architectural drama, and a prime city location? Curtis Atrium, located just steps from Independence Hall and Washington Square, offers exactly that. Housed in a century-old landmark building, this elegant space blends vintage sophistication with modern amenities, which is ideal for couples who want their celebration to feel classic, grand, and effortless.
Architectural Grandeur and Guest Experience Combined
Curtis Atrium makes a striking impression from the start. Soaring ceilings, a glass skylight, and an art deco terraced waterfall set the tone for a truly memorable event. A grand staircase allows for dramatic entrances, while the flexible layout accommodates up to 300 guests, perfect for both intimate weddings and larger celebrations. The Mezzanine Suite, added in recent renovations, offers a private balcony space ideal for cocktail hour, overlooking the entire atrium below. As evening falls, the space transforms into a warm, glowing ballroom accented by architectural lighting and subtle vintage details. On-site catering by Constellation Culinary Group ensures every plate is as polished as the setting.

FAQs: The Curtis Atrium Wedding Venue
1. Can we host both our ceremony and reception at The Curtis Atrium?
Yes — the Atrium is designed to accommodate full wedding days. Couples often exchange vows in the 12-story chamber with its grand staircase and waterfall, then move into the same space (or adjacent areas) for cocktail hour and reception. We’ll design your flow so transitions feel elegant and seamless.
 2. What is the guest capacity, and how flexible is the layout?
The Curtis Atrium supports seated weddings of up to ~ 400 guests, and standing/ cocktail events up to ~ 1,000 guests. There’s also a Mezzanine pre-function / cocktail space overlooking the Atrium, connected by two marble staircases.
 3. What architectural or visual features should we plan around for photography?
The Atrium boasts soaring ceilings, alabaster columns, a 49-foot stained glass mosaic (by Tiffany / Maxfield Parrish), a terraced waterfall, and dramatic marble staircases. These elements naturally lend themselves to striking compositions, reflections, symmetry, and layering of light. We’ll pre-shoot or scout vantage points to map where to best shoot key moments.
 4. Are there restrictions on lighting, rigging, or equipment use?
Because The Curtis Atrium is a historic, architecturally rich space, some limits may apply (e.g. rigging, drone use, structural attachments). We can coordinate ahead with the venue and Constellation (their operations/catering partner) to confirm what’s permissible.
 5. How do we handle portraits, and can we incorporate nearby locations?
Many of the most compelling backdrops are right on site: the grand staircase, mosaic wall, waterfall, mezzanine, and dramatic vistas of the Atrium. If you’d like a change of scene, we’ll build in short walking windows (Old City, nearby historic architecture) while preserving the momentum of your timeline. One couple, for example, captured striking portraits at the Merchant Exchange Building just a few blocks away.
