Savannah and Gary's love story began most unexpectedly and uniquely, against the backdrop of funerals that brought their families together. Despite the sad occasions, a spark of connection ignited between them as they found humor in the unexpected conga line at Gary's aunt's funeral.

Months later, fate reunited them at Savannah's grandfather's funeral, deepening their connection. Though they lived in different states, a shared sense of respect and empathy drew them closer. In April 2017, they reunited when Gary visited his hometown, leading to their first date in May.

Their shared interests, such as their beloved dog, camping, hiking, True Crime TV, and competitive Mario Kart matches, solidified their bond. Their love for the Phillies and attending games together further strengthened their connection.

What made Savannah and Gary a remarkable couple was their mutual respect, trust, and the genuine friendship that defined their relationship. They supported each other's individual goals while cherishing the dreams they had together. Laughter filled their days, making them each other's best friends.

The Proposal

After seven years of navigating life together, Gary decided to take their relationship to the next level. The proposal took place on the iconic Ben Franklin Bridge, a location with sentimental value as it was part of their routine walks with their dog. Gary's quirky lead-up to the proposal, including an unusual request regarding their dog's mess, added an element of surprise.

When he got down on one knee in the middle of the bridge, Savannah was shocked and overjoyed. The significance of the location symbolized the merging of their lives, with Gary from New Jersey and Savannah from Pennsylvania.
