If your plan is to have a classic early fall affair with beautiful mountains and foliage surrounding you, then a Skytop Lodge Wedding may be the right choice for you! It's a perfect location in the Pocono mountains for you and your guests to be able to relax and unwind before and after your wedding.
When I was with Jess and Ryan for their engagement session in New York City a few months prior, we talked about their vision of a formal but not stuffy, romantic and classy weekend at Skytop Lodge. Their vision became a reality. From the entire wedding weekend, to the welcome party Friday night. And right through the wedding day and Sunday morning brunch before heading home, was exactly what they set out to accomplish.
A big thank you to Jess and Ryan for trusting us to capture this amazing time in their lives!!
Here are some of my favorites from their Skytop Lodge wedding day:
Skytop Lodge
From the Skytop Lodge website:
Skytop Lodge was founded in the early 1920s. After everyone came home from World War I, there was a major sense of optimism for the future. This ignited a big idea for four men, John Stubbs, Frederic Smith, Earl Mayne and Sam Packer. With their newfound enthusiasm, they decided what better way to appreciate the natural beauty of the Pocono Mountains than to build a grand resort overlooking it all. Residents were excited by these big plans and they purchased the 2,500 acres of abandoned farm land “high in the Poconos” perfect for a resort and golf course.
Getting Ready
First Look
The morning before the wedding, Ryan posted an image on Instagram of a beautiful lake on the grounds at Skytop Lodge. In the image I noticed a swing on the shoreline of the lake...a no brainer location for some images!
How great are their reactions! We were so excited for them, their energy was infectious.
