Carly and Ty’s Winterthur Museum Garden wedding marked the natural next step in a relationship that began during high school. They met at Tatnall and started dating in their sophomore year before attending Quinnipiac University together. From classrooms and college life to new careers and their first home, they have supported each other through every milestone.

Their connection felt easy from the beginning. As they grew up side by side, their high school relationship developed into a partnership grounded in friendship, trust and shared goals. They make each other laugh, encourage one another and remain each other’s favorite person through life’s changes.

Neither Carly nor Ty can point to one moment when they knew they wanted to spend their lives together. That certainty formed gradually through years of shared decisions, challenges and achievements. Each stage showed them that they were strongest as a team, making marriage feel like the natural continuation of the life they had already built.

The Proposal

After nearly seven years together, Ty proposed during a trip to Portugal at a winery in the Douro Valley. The vineyard setting gave them a memorable place to begin planning their future as husband and wife.

Following their ceremony at Winterthur, Carly looked forward to sharing a few quiet moments with Ty in the Kissing Tower. She wanted time to pause, have a snack, and take in the fact that they were finally married before rejoining their guests. Ty anticipated the moment after dinner when he could look around the room and see all their favorite people gathered in one place before the party began.
