Joyful Crystal Tea Room Wedding | Alyssa & JJ

Alyssa and JJ’s joyful Crystal Tea Room wedding celebrated a love story that began more than a decade earlier. They first met in 2012 as sixth-grade students in reading class at Chestnut Ridge Middle School. Both grew up in Washington Township, where JJ first became friends with Alyssa’s twin brother, Anthony.

As their friendship developed into a relationship, Alyssa fell in love with JJ’s kind heart, sense of humor, and ability to make life feel easy when they were together. There was no single moment when she knew she wanted to marry him. Instead, that certainty grew through the small moments when JJ made her feel at home. Even when they were dating at 15, Alyssa believed he was the person she would one day marry.

The Proposal

JJ proposed on the beach in Margate City near Alyssa’s family’s shore house. He invited her for a walk while their relatives waited at one of the couple’s favorite restaurants nearby. During the walk, a photographer approached them and offered to take a few pictures. He then led Alyssa toward an arrangement of white roses and hydrangeas in the center of the beach. The photographer asked her to face away, and when she turned around, JJ was on one knee.

For their wedding at the Crystal Tea Room, Alyssa and JJ most looked forward to seeing each other from across the ceremony as Alyssa walked down the aisle. After growing up together and sharing so many stages of life, they marked the beginning of their next stage as husband and wife.
