LGBTQ Philadelphia Wedding at the Arts Ballroom | Kevin & Konnor

Before their LGBTQ wedding in Philadelphia, Kevin and Konnor’s story began with a Tinder match in May 2018, when both were entering new chapters of life. Konnor had just graduated from college and returned home to start his first job, while Kevin was taking summer classes before his senior year. Their first date was simple: dinner at a Mediterranean restaurant followed by a walk through a nearby park. Kevin arrived straight from class in casual clothes, while Konnor came directly from a job interview wearing a suit. Despite the contrast, the connection felt immediate. By December 2018, they officially became a couple.

Not long after, their relationship was tested by distance when Konnor moved to New York City for work. Train station goodbyes, weekends apart, and the weight of leaving each other behind became defining moments in their relationship. For Konnor, realizing how difficult it felt to leave Kevin for New York made him certain about his feelings. For Kevin, it was the repeated moments of having to say goodbye that confirmed he wanted Konnor beside him for life. In 2022, they closed the distance and moved in together in Philadelphia, discovering that life together felt even better than they had imagined.

They each fell in love for different reasons that balanced perfectly together. Konnor was drawn to Kevin’s humor, while Kevin admired Konnor’s caring, supportive, and deeply kind personality. Their relationship has always been built on comfort, laughter, and the sense that they are simply happiest together.

The Proposal

Konnor proposed during a trip to Portland beside the iconic Portland Head Light at sunset. Kevin was completely surprised. Konnor had carefully convinced him that there was no time to plan a proposal before Kevin’s upcoming trip to France, making the moment entirely unexpected. Even their friends had secretly helped scout the perfect proposal spot the week before. Kevin thought they were only visiting the lighthouse before dinner at an Italian restaurant.

When they picture their wedding day, both immediately think of the same thing: dancing. From their first dance to celebrating with everyone they love on the dance floor, they cannot wait for the energy, excitement, and joy of the night together.
