Frankie and Matt’s story is rooted in familiarity, timing, and a connection that never fully faded. They grew up in the same town of Hammonton, sharing classrooms from middle school through high school. Back then, their relationship lived in a flirty, teasing space Franki jokingly calls a “frenemy” phase. They nearly dated, but life pulled them in different directions for college. Even so, they stayed loosely in touch, crossing paths occasionally and exchanging the odd message, until 2020 brought them both back home during the pandemic. One stormy night at a local outdoor bar led to an impromptu poolside gathering at Franki’s family home, where a long conversation finally set everything in motion. Four years later, they’re engaged, homeowners, and proud cat parents.

What makes their relationship work is the balance they’ve built over time. Their differences give them perspective, their shared sense of humour keeps things light, and they genuinely enjoy the everyday moments, whether that’s competing over game show answers or spending time with friends they’ve known for years. Matt proposed at Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia, right along the water, completely surprising Franki. The day unfolded naturally from that quiet moment into a boat ride, a family dinner in the city, and a celebration back in Hammonton. It was personal, joyful, and reflective of who they are together. Their engagement session at Winterthur carried that same feeling, relaxed, familiar, and grounded in a story that’s been years in the making.
