100 East Northwestern Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19118
Tucked away in the northwest corner of Philadelphia, Morris Arboretum offers couples a quiet escape from the city’s noise and pace. With 92 acres of curated gardens, towering trees, and timeless architecture, this venue feels less like a location and more like a living storybook, perfect for couples who want their wedding to feel personal, romantic, and rooted in nature. There’s no shortage of unforgettable backdrops here.
Magnolia Slope frames ceremonies with rolling hills and soft afternoon light. Two Lines, the garden’s highest point, offers sweeping views and sculptural accents for bold, wide-angle portraits. The Azalea Meadow is open and bright, ideal for large gatherings, while the Rose Garden delivers an intimate, tucked-away feel, especially beautiful in mid-summer.
For spring weddings, Pennock Walk’s walled garden adds a sense of quiet elegance. Cocktail hour feels magical on the forested “Out on a Limb” walkway or beside the historic carriage house at Widener Plaza. Receptions unfold in the tented area connected to the 100-year-old stone visitor center, blending old-world charm with modern convenience.
The McLean Room serves as a private bridal suite, offering a quiet place to gather, breathe, and reflect. From engagement sessions to wedding day coverage, Morris Arboretum provides light, texture, and story in every direction. For us photographers, it’s a dream. For couples, it’s unforgettable.

FAQs: Morris Arboretum & Gardens Wedding Venue
1. Can we host both the ceremony and reception at Morris Arboretum?
Yes, you can. The venue provides full wedding options, including ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception under a tent on its lush estate. We’ll plan your day so transitions between garden ceremony sites and the tented reception feel smooth and cohesive.
2. What are the ceremony locations and photographic spots?
You have multiple enchanting ceremony site options: the Widener Lawn, Silktree Grove, Baxter Memorial patio, Rose Garden, or the Pennock Flower Walk, each offering unique scenery and water features or architectural charm. We’ll scout each site ahead of time and plan portrait windows around natural light & seasonal blooms, so your photos capture both you and the venue beautifully.
3. What capacities and spaces should we consider?
For seated dinners with dancing, the tented reception area can host up to about 175 guests. We’ll help you design layouts for tables, dance floor, lounge areas, etc., so you’ll have both wide shots for the event’s scale and intimate moments with guests.
4. What is included in the rental, and are there restrictions?
Rental includes the grounds (all ~92 acres), the historic carriage-house visitor center, ceremony chairs, tables, chairs for the reception, and a golf cart with driver for a set number of hours. There are some constraints (historic / garden-preservation rules, etc.). We’ll coordinate in advance with the venue to confirm what rigging, staging, or vendor setup is allowed so nothing interrupts your timeline or breaks policies.
5. What are typical rates or availability windows?
Wedding rental rates vary by season and day. For example, on weekends in peak wedding months (May, June, September), rates may be significantly higher or already sold out; Sundays or off-weekdays may have more availability and lower rates.
We’ll examine date options with you, including weekdays or off-peak dates, to secure your preferred slot within budget.
