Chic Ballroom at the Ben Wedding | Franki & Matt

Franki and Matt’s story began long before they started dating. They first met in middle school and continued sharing classes throughout high school. Although they sometimes considered themselves “frenemies,” there was always a mutual crush beneath the teasing. Their lives took separate paths after graduation, but they crossed again in 2020 at a bar in their hometown. That unexpected reunion gave them the chance to reconnect, and their friendship soon developed into a lasting relationship.

Their shared history made their connection feel familiar from the beginning. Franki fell in love with Matt’s intelligence, sense of humour and caring nature. They also found happiness in everyday life, from relaxing at home and exchanging funny videos to spending time with their cats, Dusty and Rio. Those quiet moments showed Franki that Matt would be a devoted husband and a wonderful father.

The Proposal

Matt proposed during a walk along Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia. Franki believed they were heading to dinner for his brother’s birthday, but Matt suggested a scenic walk by the water before their reservation. He stopped along the waterfront, got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. The surprises continued with a boat ride and photographer, dinner with their families and a celebration with friends in their hometown.

For their wedding at Ballroom at the Ben, Franki and Matt looked forward to celebrating with the people closest to them. Along with a lively dance party, Franki anticipated the quieter moments when they could pause, take in the day and recognise that their future as husband and wife had officially begun.
