During the pandemic, Natalie and CJ met on an online dating app in June 2020 and had their first meeting outside on a rooftop with lots of wine. They love traveling together and have put over 7500 miles on the road exploring new places.
They love food, wine, and spending quality time with their family. What makes their relationship work is their excellent communication and trust in each other.
The Proposal:
The proposal was a total surprise for Natalie, and it took place on the Ben Franklin Bridge. CJ was on the Pennsylvania side, while Natalie was on the New Jersey side - a fitting location for this couple, who both have deep roots in the opposite state.
Natalie was so excited and emotional that she said "yes" instantly, even before seeing the ring.
This modern couple had been talking about doing an "Old City" day for months. CJ always said he would want to get engaged somewhere that's "permanent," not a restaurant or hotel that would close down. When walking over the bridge, Natalie weirdly thought a bridge was permanent and there they were.
The proposal's location was special to the couple because the Ben Franklin Bridge is visible from the apartment where CJ and Natalie first met and spent time together early on in their relationship.
It also links Pennsylvania and New Jersey, which are their home states and hold a lot of significance for them. They hope it will be a permanent fixture in their lives for a long time.
