5 Reasons To Book An Engagement Session

We love feedback from our couples. We want to know how they enjoyed their wedding photography experience from our first meeting until the time we deliver their prints and albums. Never, ever have we heard a bride say, "I wish we'd skipped the engagement session." Many times—from my own clients and among my social connections—I've heard couples sigh and say, "We really should have had our engagement pictures done."

When you book an engagement session, you'll get more than you expect:

Get your guests excited for your big day

Each of you will have friends and family who have never met the love of your life. Introduce everyone with images for your Save-the-Dates, invitations, and your wedding website. Those who already know and love both of you won't be any less thrilled, either!

Build a rapport with the camera... and with me!

I'll be with you all day at your wedding. Shouldn't we break the ice? If you book an engagement session, it helps relieve camera shyness, and helps you both feel more natural interacting with one another with me behind the lens.

Share your love story

What places or experiences hold meaning for you? What's your life as a couple been like up until this point? Choose a special setting, and include elements that represent what brought you together. No matter how casual the location or your clothing choices, we promise it will be a moving, romantic experience.

Experiment With Makeup Styles

How will your wedding day makeup appear in your photos? Your engagement session is one way to find out. Bring your cosmetic kit along if you want to add a bit of drama after starting out with a more natural look. Don't forget to bring a few clothing changes!

Cool Your Jets... And Reignite The Excitement!

Wedding planning's fun, but burnout does happen. My clients love how their portrait sessions gave them a chance to hit pause, reconnect, and be in the moment for an easygoing yet intimate afternoon. (Trust me, it's good practice for your wedding day!) After your session, you'll feel like you've had a romantic reset... and when you see your engagement previews, you'll be fired up even hotter than before!
